Lipscomb vs Tennessee Tech 12/14/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles and the Lipscomb Bisons meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Allen Arena. Tennessee Tech is 3-7 overall this year and coming off a loss to Troy. Tennessee Tech lost three of their first four games this year with only a victory over Tennessee Wesleyan to show for it. The Eagles would win consecutive games, then fall to Northern Kentucky, Chattanooga, Butler and Troy in succession. 

On Saturday versus Troy, the Eagles trailed 43-30 by the break. Tennessee Tech was outscored 44-34 in the second half for a blowout loss 87-64. Both Brett Thompson and Tyrone Perry led the team on 13 points apiece. 

Over on the Lipscomb side, they went 2-2 over their first four with wins over CU Harrodsburg and Belmont. The Bisons won four straight games after that, then fell in consecutive outings to Alabama A&M and Tennessee State. 

Matched up against Tennessee State on Sunday, the Bisons took a 40-33 edge into the break. Lipscomb was outscored 57-45 from there and lost 90-85 in a tough result. Jacob Ognacevic led the team on 19 points with two rebounds. 

PICK: I’ll probably stick with Lipscomb in this one. Also probably not going near it, though. The Bisons are coming off a rough second half against Tennessee State in a game they should have won. Lipscomb had a nice 6-1 run going (with only a 66-65 loss to Notre Dame) earlier this month but they’ve struggled in their last two games. As for Tennessee Tech, they’ve scored 66 points or fewer in consecutive games and they’ve also given up 80 or more points in four straight. Lipscomb should have plenty of scoring opportunities here.
