The Arizona State Sun Devils and the Oregon Ducks meet in college basketball action from the Matthew Knight Arena on Thursday night.
The Arizona State Sun Devils will look to build on back-to-back wins after a 73-65 win over Washington last time out. DJ Horne leads the Sun Devils in scoring with 12.1 PPG along with 4.2 RPG and 2.6 APG while Frankie Collins has 11 PPG with 4.5 RPG and a team-high 5.1 APG to lead Arizona State in the assist department this season. Desmond Cambridge Jr. has 10.9 PPG with 3.4 RPG and Devan Cambridge has 10.6 PPG with 5.3 RPG to cap off the scoring in double figures for Arizona State this season. Warren Washington also has 8.4 PPG with a team-high 7.1 RPG to lead the Sun Devils on the glass as well this season. As a team, Arizona State is averaging 72.2 PPG on 42.5% shooting from the field, 30.6% from three and 67.7% from the foul line this season.
The Oregon Ducks will try to build on their 70-60 road win over Utah last time out. Will Richardson leads the Ducks in scoring and assists with 14.6 PPG and 5.4 APG while N’Faly Dante has 12.9 PPG with a team-high 7 RPG to lead Oregon in rebounding up to this point in the year. Quincy Guerrier has 10.8 PPG to cap off the group of double-digit scorers for Oregon up to this point in the season. As a team, Oregon is averaging 68.3 PPG on 43.9% shooting from the field, 29% from three and 65.7% from the foul line this season.
Arizona State is 6-0-1 ATS in their last 7 Thursday games and 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 games following an ATS loss while the over is 6-1 in their last 7 games against a team with a winning record. Oregon is 3-12 ATS in their last 15 games following a win and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Thursday games while the under is 7-2 in their last 9 games following a win.
I get the case to be made for Oregon at home, but I’m still not overly sold on the Ducks despite picking up their fair share of wins as of late. Arizona State has had their blips on the road, like the loss to San Francisco, but they’ve also got a road conference win over a decent Colorado team and the Sun Devils won both meetings outright as underdogs last season and have a better roster makeup than what they had last season. Oregon’s starting to get healthy but this just feels like a one bucket game if the Sun Devils don’t win outright. Give me the Sun Devils and the points here.
