Lipscomb vs Jacksonville Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/18/23

The Jacksonville Dolphins and the Lipscomb Bisons meet Saturday in college basketball action from Allen Arena. Jacksonville is coming off a matchup versus Austin Peay on Thursday. In that one the Dolphins powered out a four-point victory. As for Lipscomb, they played North Florida in their Thursday outing. The Bisons ended up losing by three in overtime. Jacksonville Dolphins 

Jacksonville managed to stay above .500 through 20 games, going 12-8 overall. The Dolphins hit a rough 2-5 stretch in their next seven games, though. The losses in that time were to North Alabama, North Florida (twice), Stetson and Florida Gulf Coast. 

Matched up against Austin Peay on Thursday, Jacksonville jumped out to a 33-22 edge by the break. The Dolphins were outscored 34-27 from there but still won 60-56. Kevion Nolan was the high man on 18 points and four rebounds. 

Lipscomb Bisons 

Over on the Lipscomb side, they managed to go 12-8 through 20 games this year as well. The Bisons would then go 4-3 over their next seven with wins over Bellarmine, Queens NC, Liberty and Central Arkansa during that stretch. 

In their game versus North Florida on Thursday, the Bisons came back from a 52-45 halftime deficit to force overtime. After two extra periods, Lipscomb ended up losing 114-111. Jacob Ognacevic scored 27 points and Derrin Boyd added 24 points in the defeat. 

ANDREW’S FREE PICK 

I’m sticking with Lipscomb in this one but probably not touching it. The Bisons have consecutive tough losses in the books, but the good news is that they’ve hit 69 or more points in four straight games so the offense is still doing okay. These teams last met back on January 7 at Swisher Gym. Jacksonville took a 51-44 comeback victory in that one thanks to a 32-18 second half. This one should be competitive as well, but I like Lipscomb better on the revenge cover.
