Neither team is plying well at the worst possible time, and I’m not eager to get behind either side. The Padres have no heart, and Soto has recently questioned his teams’ mindset. The Diamondbacks have been dreadful in the second half and Brandon Pfaadt has been even worse with his 7.16 ERA and 1.47 WHIP. The Padres should be favorites with the more reliable pitcher on the mound in Seth Lugo. Still, two teams going in the wrong direction. If forced to pick give the Diamondbacks at home and the plus money.
