Cal State Fullerton Gets First Win

The Cal State Fullerton Titans come into this one looking to build on their first win following a 78-48 win over subdivision La Sierra last time out. Max Jones leads the Titans in scoring with 16.5 PPG along with 5 RPG while DJ Brewton has 13.5 PPG with a team-high 6 APG to lead Cal State Fullerton in the assist department this season. Donovan Oday has 12.5 PPG to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for the Titans up to this point in the year. Grayson Carper also has a team-high 8.5 RPG to lead the Titans on the glass this season. As a team, Cal State Fullerton is averaging 67.5 PPG on 42% shooting from the field, 25.5% from three and 58% from the foul line this season.

UCF Falls To Miami

The UCF Knights come into this one off of their first loss of the season following an 88-72 loss at the hands of the Miami Hurricanes in their last matchup. Jaylin Sellers leads UCF in scoring and rebounding with 22.5 PPG and 8.5 RPG with 2.5 SPG while Darius Johnson has 14 PPG with 3 RPG and 2.5 APG as the only other double-digit scorer for UCF up to this point in the year. Nils Machowski has 9 PPG while Shemarri Allen has a team-high 3 APG to lead the Knights in the assist department this season. As a team, UCF is averaging 78.5 PPG on 45.2% shooting from the field, 27.3% from three and 67.6% from the foul line this season.

I’m rolling with UCF here. What we’ve seen from the Titans this season is that they can beat on a subdivision team but get demolished by a team like San Diego State and UCF runs a very similar style to what we’ve seen from the Knights so far this season. Even in the loss to Miami, UCF was competitive, but they’ve played a much tougher road than what Cal State Fullerton’s bringing to the table here. Give me the Knights by double digits.
