The Fresno State Bulldogs and the Boise State Broncos meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Taco Bell Arena.
Fresno State enters this one at 5-5 on the year. The Bulldogs have lost consecutive games to Nevada in their last pair of outings. As for Boise State, they’re 12-1 this year. The Broncos have won a dozen in a item, most recently over Wyoming. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.
Fresno State began their year at 2-2 before falling in three straight to Colorado State (twice) and Wyoming. After a win over Wyoming and a pair of wins over San Jose State, the Bulldogs fell in two games to Nevada last weekend, 73-57 on Friday and 79-65 on Sunday.
In the Sunday loss, Fresno State’s Orlando Robinson put up 15 points with eight rebounds and one assist. Both Isaiah Hill and Deon Stroud notched 13 points apiece, combining for eight rebounds and three assists as well. Junior Ballard chipped in 12 points and four boards as well.
Over on the Boise State side, they fell in their opener to Houston, but since have rattled off a dozen straight victories. Those wins have come versus Sam Houston State, College of Idaho, BYU, Weber State, New Mexico, San Jose State, Air Force and Wyoming in succession.
In last week’s 90-70 win over Wyoming, Boise State’s Devonaire Doutrive led the team with 17 points and five rebounds with one assist. Abu Kigab added 15 points and six boards, while both RayJ Dennis and Derrick Alston put up 14 points apiece for the Broncos.
The Broncos are 3-0-1 ATS in their last four Wednesday games and 14-5-1 ATS in their last 20 home games. Boise State is 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 overall and the over is 5-0 in their last five Wednesday games.
Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are 1-4 ATS in their last five Wednesday games and 1-4 ATS in their last five after an ATS loss. Fresno State is 0-4 ATS in their last four road games and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall.
PICK: I’m going to stick with Boise State. The Broncos haven’t had any issues in their last four games, winning each by double-digits and scoring 78 or more in every outing. Good offense has been a running trend for Boise State; they’ve hit 70 or more in each of their wins this year. Fresno State can score themselves when the matchup is right, but I don’t think the Bulldogs will keep the pace for the whole game here.
