The Chicago Bulls were starting to heat up as they had reeled off three straight wins before they got stopped in their tracks by the Warriors in a 140-131 loss last night. DeMar DeRozan led the team with 39 points, six rebounds and five assists on 15 of 21 shooting, Coby White and Zach LaVine each scored 25 points while Nikola Vucevic chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Bulls shot 58 percent from the field and 18 of 40 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in control when they poured in 45 points in the second quarter to take the early lead, only to allow 48 points in the third quarter to suffer the disappointing loss.

Victor Wembenyama led the team with 26 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks on nine of 14 shooting, Doug McDermott added 14 points off the bench while Jeremy Sochan chipped in with 13 points. As a team, the Spurs shot 51 percent from the field and 18 of 38 from the 3-point line as they went to their big man early and dominated the second quarter by 38-23 to take a 21-point halftime lead which only got bigger as the game wore on.

The Spurs are coming into this game fresh off their second straight win, but they’re going to be shorthanded here as Victor Wembenyama is being rested for this one. The Bulls had reeled off three straight wins before they’re getting humbled by the Warriors last night, but I think they’re going to be starting another win streak in this one. The Spurs tend to play better without Wembanyama in the lineup, especially players like Johnson and Vassell, but the Spurs’ last two wins came against the worst teams in the Pistons and the Hornets, so I’m sticking with the more consistent Bulls to get back on track with a win and cover on the road.
