Fresno State Bulldogs
The Bulldogs managed a 9-13 record over their first 22 games this year. Fresno State would then beat San Jose State and Air Force in consecutive games. Since then it’s been losses to UNLV, Boise State, San Diego State, Utah State, Nevada, New Mexico and Wyoming.
In the Wyoming matchup last weekend, the Bulldogs came out of the break with a 46-30 deficit. Fresno State was drilled 40-17 in the second half and limped to the loss 86-47. Jalen Weaver was the only team player in double-figures with 12 points and three boards off the bench.
Wyoming Cowboys
Over on the Wyoming side, they managed a .500 run over their first 24 games then bagged a win over San Jose State. The Cowboys would lose to Nevada, Boise State, UNLV and Colorado State in the next four before two more wins over Air Force and Fresno State.
Wyoming didn’t have too many issues in their Saturday win over the Bulldogs. The Cowboys had four starters in double-figures and three bench players with at least four points. Wyoming’s Akuel Kot led the team 17 points, while Mason Walters added 14 points with nine rebounds.
ANDREW’S FREE FRESNO STATE VS WYOMING PREDICTION
I’ll stay with Wyoming in this one. The Cowboys shot a nice 57.4 percent from the field on Saturday, bagging 41-29 rebounding advantage and just nine turnovers along the way. Wyoming held Fresno State to just 28.6 percent shooting from the field on the other side as well.
Oddly enough, Wyoming had some troubles pulling out a 68-67 win at home over Fresno State in their first meeting on January 13. The Cowboys have been wildly inconsistent since then, but over the last pair they’ve scored a combined 160 points. Wyoming should do well here also.
