Draftkings picks and predictions for this afternoon's Sky vs. Fever matchup.

Chicago Sky vs. Indiana Fever
June 1, 2024 12:00 pm EDT

The WNBA presents a matchup between the Chicago Sky and the Indiana Fever. Let’s take a look at this game from a Draftkings perspective.

Before we dive into the Chicago Sky vs. Indiana Fever game let’s review the rules for the Draftkings single game showdown contest.

Draftkings Single Game Showdown Contest Rules

You have $50,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your team captain. The captain accumulates 1.5 times the standard fantasy points. Additionally, the captain is 1.5 times the standard cost of the flex position.

The remaining four players in your lineup will receive the standard fantasy points. Having stated that, it is highly important for you to identify the correct player for your captain position if you hope to win a large field DFS GPP (guaranteed prize pool) showdown contest.

If you have additional questions regarding the rules for the single game showdown contest, I recommend that you check out the Draftkings website for more details.

*I recommend that all readers review the starting lineups for both teams prior to setting your DFS lineup for this one game slate

Here are my Draftkings picks for this afternoon’s Chicago Sky vs. Indiana Pacers matchup.

Draftkings Picks

Captain-Aliyah Boston $8,200

Indiana Fever forward Aliyah Boston has certainly been the leader in the paint that the Fever have needed to win games this season. Let’s take a look at Boston’s recent game data to shed light on my previous statement.

In nine games played for the Indiana Fever in the 2024 WNBA regular season, Indiana Fever forward Aliyah Boston has averaged a respectable 11 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 0.7 steals, and 1 block a game.

More recently, in the Indiana Fever’s 103-88 loss to the Seattle Storm two days ago, Indiana Fever forward Aliyah Boston played rather well. Boston accumulated 11 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 assists in the Seattle Stom’s defeat of the Indiana Fever earlier this week.

Additionally, I certainly like Aliyah Boston’s matchup this afternoon? Why? Indiana’s Aliyah Boston draws a Chicago Sky defense that has struggled to defend opposing players in the paint all season. Through six games played in the 2024 WNBA regular season, the Chicago Sky are currently ranked a dreadful 12th in total points allowed in the paint a game (38.7) and 12th in defensive rebound percentage (62.3%). Keep in mind that the WNBA has 12 teams in the entire league. Clearly, being ranked 12th in any team defensive category is never a good thing.

It should be mentioned that Indiana forward Temi Fagbenie has been ruled out for this afternoon’s contest. The loss of Fagbenie should allow Aliyah Boston to flourish versus this vulnerable Chicago Sky defense.

Selecting the correct captain for your DFS single game showdown lineup is vital if you hope to win a large field GPP (guaranteed prize pool) Draftkings contest. I think that talented Indiana forward Aliyah Boston fits the captain narrative perfectly for this one game slate.

Flex Plays

Angel Reese $7,800

Chicago Sky rookie forward Angel Reese has wasted little time showing the world that she belongs in the WNBA. Having stated that, how is Reese playing from a statistical standpoint?

In the Chicago Sky’s six games played in the 2024 WNBA regular season, Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese is averaging 11.1 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.3 stealw a game.

I fully expect Chicago’s Angel Reese to continue her outstanding play versus the Indiana Fever later today.

Additional players I like to play well this evening (Draftkings price noted): Dana Evans $7,600: NaLyssa Smith $9,400: Marina Mabrey $9,000: Caitlin Clark $10,000: Kelsey Mitchell $7,200.
