In this article, we will formulate a Navy vs Temple prediction for this College Football game on Saturday, September 7th at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this Week 2 matchup.
Navy Midshipmen Betting Preview
The Navy Midshipmen are 1-0 this season after they defeated Bucknell by a score of 49-21 in their first game. Navy trailed 7-6 at the end of the first quarter, but they scored the next five touchdowns and led 35-7 early in the third quarter. Both teams scored two more touchdowns in the game and Navy cruised to the victory. Navy outgained Bucknell by a total of 437-337 and turned the ball over two times while going 10-17 on third down in the game. Blake Horvath threw for 108 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception, while Daba Fofana rushed for 82 yards and one score on eight carries.
Navy was able to take care of business in week one with a solid performance, but they did allow over 300 yards to Bucknell. The Midshipmen will need to tighten up their defense, but the offense did look very strong, as they rushed for 264 yards. Navy will play against Memphis following this game.
Temple Owls Betting Preview
The Temple Owls are 0-1 this year after they lost to Oklahoma by a score of 51-3 in their last game. Temple didn’t get much going in the first half, as they trailed 34-0. The Owls did manage to get on the scoreboard in the third quarter, but they were outscored 14-0 to end the game. Temple was outgained by a total of 378-197 and they turned the ball over six times while going 4-13 on third downs in the loss. Forrest Brock threw for 128 yards, while EJ Wilson rushed for 31 yards on six carries.
Temple was dominated on the scoreboard in their first game of the season, but they only allowed 378 total yards, which is much less than I thought it would be after giving up 51 points. The Temple defense wasn’t awful, but their offense had six turnovers and didn’t even break 200 yards.
Navy vs Temple Prediction
Temple comes into this matchup looking for their first touchdown of the season, after only scoring three points against Oklahoma in their first game. The Owls had plenty of turnover issues in that loss, and they need to clean up those mistakes here. Navy was able to score plenty of points against Bucknell, but their defense wasn’t great. I do think the Navy offense will find success and even though their defense had some issues, I think they can hold up against Temple. Take Navy at home.
