Philly is fresh off a series versus the Chicago Cubs. The Phillies split the first pair 6-2 (win) and 10-4 (loss). In the rubber match Philadelphia powered out the win 9-6. The Phillies notched 13 team hits in that one, scoring three runs in both the first and fifth innings.

Washington Nationals vs Philadelphia Phillies Prediction

I’ll lean toward the Phillies. Probably staying away, though. Suarez is just 0-1 in his last three starts with nine earned runs combined across 15.1 innings on 21 hits and eight walks. Suarez should be able to handle the Nationals batters if he’s on point, though.

This week Philadelphia scored pretty well against the Cubs (19 runs in three games). That said, the Phillies also gave up a combined 16 runs over the last two outings. If the Philadelphia pen can keep things under control here the team should be in line for a win, though.
