The UC Davis Aggies and the Stanford Cardinal meet Sunday in college basketball action from Maples Pavilion. Here’s a Stanford vs UC Davis prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Stanford vs UC Davis pick.

UC Davis Aggies Betting Preview

The Aggies started out the year on a down note against Washington. UC Davis couldn’t keep pace and ended up falling 79-73 in the opener. The Aggies were able to bounce back in the next game with a 79-75 win over Idaho, however.

In their last game on Tuesday versus Menlo, the Aggies made it consecutive wins. Following a 39-30 edge in the first half, UC Davis put up another 41 points on the way to an 80-70 win. Ty Johnson led the team with 22 points with six rebounds.

Stanford Cardinal Betting Preview

Over on the Stanford side, they’ve been rolling on a trio of double-digit wins so far. The Cardinal took care of Denver in their opener on November 4 by a score of 85-62. Ditto for game two against CSU Fullerton, as Stanford rolled to an 80-53 victory.

In game three versus Northern Arizona, the Cardinal were up 48-26 by the break. Stanford hit a 42-38 second half on the way to a 90-64 win. Leading the team in scoring was Maxime Raynaud with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Oziyah Sellers added 17 points as well.

Why the Stanford Cardinal will win

  • Stanford has won each of its last eight games against the Big West Conference.
  • Stanford has won the first half in each of its last 15 games against the Big West Conference.

Why the UC Davis Aggies will win

  • UC Davis has won six of its last eight games.
  • UC Davis has won the first half in seven of its last nine-day games against non-AP-ranked opponents.

Stanford vs UC Davis Prediction

I’ll probably just stay with Stanford at home. The Cardinal have a trio of big wins so far this year and should be in control here. In the win over Northern Arizona, Stanford shot a nice 56.1 percent from the floor, 52.2 percent (12-of-23) from 3-point range, and 14-of-16 (87.5 percent) from the line alongside a 31-22 rebounding advantage, 17 team assists and just six turnovers.

As for UC Davis, they didn’t have a ton of trouble versus Menlo in their last game. The Aggies shot 49.2 percent from the field in that one with a 37-34 rebounding edge. That makes 73 or more points in each game for UC Davis so far. We could have a fairly high-scoring total here if both teams are on point.
