The Lipscomb Bisons and the Kentucky Wildcats meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Rupp Arena. Here’s a Kentucky vs Lipscomb prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Kentucky vs Lipscomb pick.
Lipscomb Bisons Betting Preview
Lipscomb has been pretty busy so far this year, with five games in the bag already. The Bisons won two of their first three: wins over Duquesne and Wofford with a 16-point loss to Arkansas in between. Game four was a tough 80-79 loss to Belmont.
On Sunday versus Western Kentucky, Lipscomb took their third loss. The Bisons held a 31-30 edge at the break but then got outscored 36-30 from there in a 66-61 result. Jacob Ognacevic posted nine points and 11 boards in the defeat, while Joe Anderson had nine points and seven rebounds.
Kentucky Wildcats Betting Preview
Over on the Kentucky side, they’ve only played three games so far but all of them have been wins. The first pair were both blowouts: the Wildcats blew past Wright State 103-62 in the opener, then beat Bucknell 100-72 on November 9.
In their matchup versus Duke last Tuesday, the Wildcats had their closest finish thus far. Kentucky was down 46-37 by halftime, then roared back with 40 second-half points for the 77-72 win. Andrew Carr led the team with 17 points with six rebounds.
Why the Kentucky Wildcats will win
- Kentucky has won 26 of its last 27 night games against non-conference opponents at Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center.
- Lipscomb has lost each of its last seven games against the Southeastern Conference.
- Kentucky has won the first half in each of its last 13 night games at Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center against non-AP-ranked opponents.
Why the Lipscomb Bisons will win
- Lipscomb has won each of its last three games following a road loss.
- Lipscomb has won the first half in each of its last five Tuesday road games against non-conference opponents.
Kentucky vs Lipscomb Prediction
I’ll probably just stay with Kentucky. The Wildcats are coming off a nice effort versus Duke in their latest win despite shooting a tepid 39.7 percent from the field. Kentucky posted 43 rebounds and 17 team assists in that one, holding the Blue Devils to just 16.7 (4-of-24) percent from outside. That makes 77 or more points in all three games so far.
As for Lipscomb, they shot just 34.8 percent from the floor with 16.1 percent (5-of-31) from 3-point range against Western Kentucky. It’s going to be tough for the Bisons to find many open looks here, so I don’t think they’ll get close at all.
