Towson got off to a rough 1-2 start this year, falling to St. Mary’s and South Carolina around a lone win versus Wilkes-Barre. The Tigers are on a three-game win streak since then, taking out James Madison, Nicholls, and Morgan State in that time.

Matched up against Morgan State in their Sunday game, the Tigers were up by nine at the start of the second half. Towson slowed down a bit from there but still won 64-60 in the end. Nendah Tarke was the top scorer with 24 points and seven rebounds.

Kent State Golden Flashes Betting Preview

Over on the Kent State side, they took out Louisiana and Miami-Hamilton in their first two games before a loss to Auburn on November 13. The last two outings have both been wins though, over Niagara and Cleveland State.

In Saturday’s game versus Cleveland State, the Flashes took a 36-29 edge into the locker room. Kent State was pretty sharp in the second on a 32-23 run and won 68-52. Cil’Ron Hornbeak doubled up in the victory with his 10 points and 11 rebounds.

I’ll stay with Kent State in this one. The Flashes have gotten off to a hot 4-1 start, with their only loss being to a stellar Auburn team that Kent State had virtually no chance of beating. Otherwise, it’s been 68 or more points scored in four games, with 66 or fewer points allowed in three of those. Kent State shot great from outside (50 percent) and from the field (45.1 percent) in their latest win over Cleveland State, but the 18 turnovers really put a damper on the margin of victory.

As for Towson, they’re doing pretty well over their last three games (all wins), thanks to 64 or fewer points allowed in each. The Tigers have had a bit of trouble posting big scoring totals themselves this year, however, as they’ve got fewer than 71 points in five of six games. Kent State needs to get off to a hot start here (and control the ball better), but the Flashes should have every capability of a cover/win in the end.
