Houston Cougars Betting Preview

The Houston Cougars are 35-4 (19-1) this season after they defeated Duke by a score of 70-67 in their last game. LJ Cryer led Houston with 26 points and five rebounds, while Emanuel Sharp added 16 points and three rebounds in the game. Houston did not shoot the ball very well, but they had 11 more rebounds in the game and gave Duke a ton of trouble with their full court pressure late in the game.

Prior to that win, the Cougars defeated Tennessee by a score of 69-50 and Purdue by a score of 62-60. Houston has won 18 games in a row and they finished first in the Big 12 standings with a 19-1 record. The Florida Gators are 35-4 (14-4) this year after they defeated Auburn by a score of 79-73 in their last game. The Gators shot 47.2% from the field, 38.1% on three pointers, and 70% on free throws in the game. Walter Clayton Jr. led Florida with 34 points and four rebounds, while Alijah Martin added 17 points and three rebounds in the game. Florida struggled to get stops in the first half, but they allowed just 12 points in the first 12 minutes of the second half to take control of the game.

Houston vs Florida Prediction

Both of these teams come into this matchup with a 35-4 record on the season and both had to make second half comebacks in the Final Four, so this should be a great game to watch. These two teams like to play at two completely different paces, so it will be interesting to see who can control the tempo. Florida has a very explosive offense and they don’t play much defense, while Houston is the best defensive team in the nation. I do think this total is a little low when you factor in how Florida likes to play, but I like the shot making that the Gators have and they are extremely deep. Take Florida to get the huge win here.
