2025 AIG Women's Open
August 1, 2025 1:30 am EDT

This Friday morning, Draftkings golf fans will be presented with the second round of the 2025 AIG Women’s Open. Let’s take a look at the second round of this tournament from a DFS perspective.

Before I discuss my Draftkings player selections for this week’s event let’s review where the second round of the 2025 AIG Women’s Open will be played.

The 2025 AIG Women’s Open will be played at Royal Porthcawl Golf Club. The golf course is a par 72 that measures approximately 6,580 yards.

Lydia Ko won the 2024 AIG Women’s Open with a cumulative four round score of seven under par.

I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact DFS lineup.

Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a DraftKings GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest! Keep that in mind as you construct your lineups for this DFS slate.

For those readers that are not aware, the rules and scoring for DraftKings single round showdown contests are vastly different than the traditional classic contests offered by the platform.

If you need to review the specific rules for the single round showdown contests feel free to check out the DraftKings website.

Here are my DraftKings picks for the second round of the 2025 AIG Women’s Open.

Draftkings Second Round Picks

Rio Takeda $8,500

Rio Takeda has amassed three top 23 finishes in her last six events played on the LPGA Tour, including an impressive second-place result at the 2025 U.S. Women’s Open last month.

Rio Takeda certainly checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. Let me be more specific. Takeda is currently ranked eighth in overall strokes gained (1.69), first in strokes gained tee to green (2.07), 19th in strokes gained off the tee (0.59), second in strokes gained approach (1.35) and second in GIR (greens in regulation-76.72%) on the LPGA Tour.

Minjee Lee $9,900

Since the beginning of January, Minjee Lee has played 14 tournaments on the LPGA Tour. In those 14 events just mentioned, Lee has tallied eight top 15 finishes, including a win at the 2025 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship last month.

Lee is currently ranked second in overall strokes gained (2.54), 20th in strokes gained tee to green (1.05), 12th in strokes gained off the tee (0.68), fifth in total birdies made (203) and fourth in strokes gained putting (1.21) on the LPGA Tour.

It is noteworthy that Minjee Lee has played well at this week’s major championship in the past. Lee finished fifth at the 2025 AIG Women’s Open.

Upon the completion of this afternoon’s first round of the 2025 AIG Women’s Open, Minjee Lee is currently tied for 13th place with a score of two under par. In summary, I fully expect Minjee Lee to continue her outstanding play in tomorrow’s second round of the 2025 AIG Women’s Open.

Miyu Yamashita $9,100

Miyu Yamashita arrives at this week’s event on the heels of three consecutive top 14 finishes, including a sixth-place result at the 2025 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship six weeks ago.

Chisato Iwai $7,300

Chisato Iwai has amassed two top 14 finishes in her last three tournaments played on the LPGA Tour, including a 14th place result at the 2025 Amundi Evian Championship three weeks ago.

Additional golfers I like to play well in tomorrow’s second round of the 2025 AIG Women’s Open (Draftkings price noted): Nelly Korda $10,500: Esther Henseleit $7,800: Mao Saigo $8,400: Manon De Roy $6,600.
