The New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys meet Sunday in NFL action from AT&T Stadium. Here’s a Cowboys vs Giants prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Cowboys vs Giants pick.

New York Giants Betting Preview

For what it’s worth, the Giants powered through the preseason. New York was undefeated in their exhibition games and scored well along the way. In the opener versus the Buffalo Bills, the Giants posted a 34-25 victory, then dispatched the rival Jets 31-12 in game two. The preseason finale was another victory, this time 42-10 over the New England Patriots. New York’s Ben Woolridge threw for 82 yards, one TD and one interception on 10-of-20 passing in that one, while Shane Watts led the rush with 52 yards on 15 carries. Tops in receiving was Jeremiah Webb with three grabs for 31 yards and a touchdown.

Unfortunately for the Giants, all that winning came to a stop in their regular-season opener versus the Washington Commanders. New York came out of the break with a 14-3 deficit and could only muster a second-half field goal from there in a 21-6 loss. QB Russell Wilson was 17-of-37 for 169 yards, and also led the rush with eight carries for 43 yards. Tops in receiving was Malik Nabers with five catches for 71 yards. Wan’Dale Robinson added six catches for 55 yards in the losing effort as well.

Dallas Cowboys Betting Preview

Over on the Cowboys’ side, they managed to go 1-2 in the preseason. Dallas lost their first pair of exhibition games, giving up a ton of points in the process. The Cowboys’ first defeat was 31-21 against the Los Angeles Rams, then they’d fall in game two versus the Ravens 31-13. Dallas was finally able to regroup and get a victory over the Falcons in game three though, taking it 31-13 in the end—scoring in every quarter along the way. QB Joe Milton was 10-of-18 for 132 yards and a touchdown, and Deuce Vaughn led the rush on 42 yards from his 10 carries. Leading the receivers was Ryan Flournoy with four catches for 45 yards.

Last Thursday in their 2025 season opener (that also served as the NFL’s 2025 season opener as a whole), the Cowboys took on the rival Philadelphia Eagles. Dallas was within one point 21-20 by halftime but didn’t score in the second half in a 24-20 loss. QB Dak Prescott was 21-of-34 for 188 yards. Topping the rush was Javonte Williams with 15 carries for 54 yards and two touchdowns, and CeeDee Lamb hauled in seven catches for 110 yards as the team’s top receiver during the defeat.

Cowboys vs Giants Prediction

I’m going to stay with the Cowboys. Probably not touching this one though; neither team looked spectacular in their respective openers. In any case, Dallas wasn’t too bad overall on offense during their loss to the Eagles—they just didn’t hold the ball very long (25:08 in time of possession). The Cowboys collected 307 total yards (119 rushing), 5.5 yards per play, 22 first downs and a 7-of-11 rate on third-down tries. Defensively Dallas gave up 8-of-13 on third-down tries along with 302 yards (144 passing) and 20 first downs. Philly’s nine penalties for 110 yards didn’t hurt either.

The good news for Dallas is that they’ll get a softer opponent on paper this time, and that they’ll be playing at home. New York put up a tepid 231 yards (158 passing) and 4-of-16 on third downs in their loss to Washington. Defensively the Giants weren’t good either with 431 total yards (219 rushing) allowed. The Cowboys should have plenty of opportunities to move the football in this one, so if they can keep the offense churning Dallas should be in solid position to cover.
