Buffalo Bills Betting Preview
The Bills were all over the place during the preseason, going 1-2 overall through those three exhibition games. Buffalo opened up versus the New York Giants, logging a 34-25 loss. Game two against the Chicago Bears was even worse as the Bills stumbled to a shutout loss 38-0. In their final preseason outing versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on August 23, Buffalo jumped out to a 17-10 halftime lead and managed to hold on for the win 23-19. QB Shane Buechele finished with 278 yards and a touchdown on 25-of-30 passing. Frank Gore Jr. scored a rush TD, but Elijah Young led the ground game on 16 carries for 53 yards. Kristian Wilkerson led the receivers on five catches for 46 yards.
In their season opener Sunday night versus the Baltimore Ravens, the Bills were in trouble by the fourth quarter, trailing 34-19. Buffalo then proceeded to outscore Baltimore 22-6 the rest of the way, pulling off a wild comeback win 41-40. Josh Allen threw for 394 yards and a pair of scores, while also rushing for two more TDs. James Cook had 44 yards with a rush score on 13 totes, and Keon Coleman caught eight balls for 112 yards and a touchdown.

New York had a good game against the Green Bay Packers in the opener, eventually powering out the win 30-10. In their game two matchup versus the rival New York Giants however, the Jets faltered 31-12 for a loss. The preseason finale versus the champion Philadelphia Eagles was much closer but still another defeat, this time 19-17. New York got 99 yards and an interception from Brady Cook on 13-of-19 passing. Tops in rushing was Lawrance Toafili with seven totes for 38 yards and a score. Jamaal Pritchett was the leading receiver on the team with four grabs for 54 yards total.
The Jets’ regular season kicked off with a matchup versus the Pittsburgh Steelers at MetLife Stadium on Sunday. New York was looking pretty good after the third quarter, holding a 26-17 lead. After a 17-6 deficit from there however, the Jets ended up falling 34-32. Justin Fields went 16-of-22 for 218 yards and a touchdown while rushing 12 times for 48 yards and two more scores. Jets vs Bills Prediction
I’ll stay with the Bills. On Sunday Buffalo needed a wild fourth quarter to pull off a big win over a very good Baltimore team. The first three quarters raised a few concerns, but you can’t argue with the finish. The Bills did end up surrendering 238 rushing yards and 8.6 yards per play, but the offense helped keep pace on 497 total yards (389 passing) and 29 first downs.
As for the Jets, they put up a fairly valiant effort versus a plucky Pittsburgh team in their first outing of the year but ultimately fell short. New York generated 394 yards on offense (212 passing) with 23 first downs while going 7-of-14 on third-down tries. The defense was great against the rush (53 yards) and held the Steelers to just 4-of-10 on third downs. New York is going to need to log a robust effort on both sides of the ball in order to keep pace with Buffalo this weekend though, and I don’t think they’ve got it in them to do so.
