The White Sox and Padres meet on Friday in MLB action from Guaranteed Rate Field. Here’s a White Sox vs Padres prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best White Sox vs Padres pick.

White Sox Are Ice Cold

The White Sox are suddenly ice cold again, and they have lost six games in a row. On Wednesday, the White Sox faced off against the Baltimore Orioles and ended up losing 3-1. The White Sox had five hits, but only one crossed the line. The only real offense for Chicago was from Mike Tauchmann who hit a home run in the 4th inning. Martin Perez got the start and he probably shouldn’t be in the league anymore. He went 3.2 innings, giving up five hits and three runs.

The White Sox are averaging 3.98 runs while their pitching is giving up 4.56 runs per game. The offense is ranked 26th while the pitching is ranked 20th. Getting the start for the White Sox will be Davis Martin who sits with a 6-10 record and an ERA of 4.01. Against the Guardians in his last start he went five innings giving up five hits and two earned runs. He has given up at least two runs, but no more than three, in each of his last five starts.

How Can the Padres Bounce Back?

The Padres have had quality season, but they are coming off a disappointing loss on Thursday. The Padres scored only one run against th New York Mets, and they ended up losing by five runs. Luis Arraez was the top player finishing with one hit and one RBI. That being said, the rest of the offense wasn’t great and they need to get the offense out to a faster start. Randy Vasquez was on the mound, and he went 2.1 innings giving up four hits and four runs.

The Padres are averaging 4.26 runs while their pitching is giving up 3.98 runs per game. The offense is ranked 22nd while the pitching is ranked 2nd. It’s actually a bit shocking on how much they have leaned on the pitching because the offense hasn’t been good enough. Getting the start for the Padres will be Dylan Cease who sits with an 8-11 record and an ERA of 4.59. Against the Rockies he went six innings giving up five hits and one run.

White Sox vs Padres Prediction

Give me the Padres here with Cease facing off against his former team. Cease over his last two starts has given up only two runs total. The White Sox bats have been ice cold, and there is no reason to believe that is going to be any different here. For Davis Martin, he hasn’t been awful, but unless he’s going eight innings, and not giving up any runs, this game is going to get out of control early. The Padres will end up cruising here to another win. Back the Padres on the run line.
