In their latest game on Monday versus Charleston Southern, the Bulldogs trailed by 13 points heading into the second half. South Carolina State scored just 24 points from there in an 84-44 blowout loss. No one on the team finished in double-digits; Ryniel Wright posted eight points with five rebounds, and Own Bronston added eight points with two boards. Cameron Clark had seven points with a team-high eight boards as well.

Queens University Royals Betting Preview

Over on the Royals’ side, they’ve had a bit more luck this year but they’re still below the .500 mark overall. Queens U opened on a 1-3 run with a lone win over Lynchburg amid losses to Winthrop, Villanova and Duquesne. Since then it’s been a 3-2 stretch with losses to Furman and Virginia amid wins over Sacred Heart, UNC Greensboro and Gardner-Webb. Over nine games this year that gives Queens U a 4-5 overall record so far.

In their latest matchup last Wednesday versus Gardner-Webb, the Royals jumped out to a 52-37 halftime edge. Queens U followed up on a 55-37 run from there and took a 107-74 win. Nasir Mann led the charge on 20 points with six rebounds, and Avantae Parker had 18 points with five rebounds. Chris Ashby added 14 points in 26 minutes during the winning effort for the Royals as well.

I’ll probably just stick with the Royals. Queens U is coming off a blowout win over an unbeaten team in Gardner-Webb. During that win, the Royals shot a cool 62.1 percent from the field and 51.7 percent (15-of-29) from outside, along with a 50-28 advantage in the paint and 23 team assists. It was a nice overall effort. Queens U has hit a nice 69 or more points in all nine games so far this year.

As for SC State, they shot a miserable 29.6 percent from the field in their latest loss to Charleston Southern, hitting just nine of 24 (37.5 percent) from the line as well. The Bulldogs had 14 turnovers and got out-rebounded 39-28. It was another in a string of rough performances so far this year; I don’t think the Bulldogs will bounce back here.
