The Ole Miss Rebels and the North Carolina State Wolfpack meet Sunday in college basketball action from Greensboro Coliseum. Here’s an NC State vs Ole Miss prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best NC State vs Ole Miss pick.

Ole Miss Rebels Betting Preview

The Rebels’ season kicked off with a string of five straight wins. Those came versus SE Louisiana, LA-Monroe, Memphis, Cal State Bakersfield and Austin Peay. The next four games were all losses however, as the Rebels fell versus Iowa, Utah, Miami and Saint John’s. Since then it’s been a pair of victories over Southern Miss and Alabama A&M. That gives the Rebels a 7-4 overall record across their first 11 games this year.

In the Alabama A&M game on Wednesday, the Rebels finished the first half on a 44-29 advantage. Ole Miss scored 36 more points from there in an 80-66 win. Malik Dia finished on 27 points with seven rebounds while AJ Storr had 14 points with six boards and four assists. Ilias Kamardine added nine points with eight assists and five rebounds in the winning effort.

NC State Wolfpack Betting Preview

Over on the NC State side, they put up four straight wins to start the year, dispatching NC Central, UAB, UNC Greensboro and VCU. The Wolfpack would hit a 1-3 run after that with losses to Seton Hall, Texas and Auburn. Since then it’s been a 3-1 run with a loss to Kansas among wins versus UNC Asheville, Liberty and Texas Southern otherwise. That gives NC State an 8-4 overall run so far this year.

Matched up against Texas Southern in Wednesday’s game, the Wolfpack put up a dominant 51-28 first half. NC State hit a 57-44 run in the second for a blowout win 108-72. Leading the scoring was Paul McNeil with a whopping 47 points and 10 boards. The only other Wolfpack player to finish in double-digits was Jerry Deng with 14 points and three rebounds in the win.

Why the NC State Wolfpack will win

  • NC State has won eight of its last 10 games against non-AP-ranked opponents.
  • Ole Miss has lost three of its last four games played at neutral venues.
  • NC State has won the first half in 10 of its last 12 games against non-AP-ranked opponents.

Why the Ole Miss Rebels will win

  • Ole Miss has won each of its last six day games against non-AP-ranked opponents at a neutral venue.
  • NC State has lost each of its last five games against the Southeastern Conference.
  • NC State has lost the first half in eight of its last nine day games played at neutral venues.

NC State vs Ole Miss Prediction

I’ll stay with NC State but you could call this one either way. It’ll be a fun matchup. The Wolfpack demolished Texas Southern in their last outing, hitting 50.7 percent from the field and 42.5 percent (17-of-40) from outside alongside 85.2 percent (23-of-27) from the line. NC State had 44 rebounds, 21 team assists and just six turnovers as well. Over the course of the season, the Wolfpack have posted 73 or more points in every game, and they’ve got 75 or more in each of the last four.

As for Ole Miss, they shot 54 percent from the field in their win over Alabama A&M and had just six turnovers alongside 19 team assists. The Rebels weren’t great from the line (18-of-30 for 60 percent) but that was really the only thing to complain about. Following their 0-4 stretch in which they were below 70 points in three games, the Rebels have 71 or more points in consecutive outings. If they can keep that stretch going, Ole Miss will make things interesting here.
