The Aggies opened up the year with a home game versus a visiting Idaho State squad. Utah State lost that one 29-17. Game two on the road versus Washington was much closer but still a loss 16-14. Utah State’s skid continued with a tough road game versus Utah and a loss 33-0 after giving up 26 unanswered points in the first half alone.
In game four versus Troy, the Aggies were down 10-7 as they started out the second half. Utah State posted a pair of touchdowns in the third quarter and held on for the victory 21-10 in the end. It was their first win of the year. QB Grady Brosterhous was 18-of-28 for 242 yards, two scores and a pick while also leading the rush with 15 carries for 89 yards.
Boise State Broncos Betting Preview
Over on the Boise State side, they had a tricky opener on the road versus Oregon. The Broncos played pretty well overall but still lost 34-27 in the end. Boise State got their first win the next weekend versus Memphis by a score of 38-20, then kept it going against South Dakota. Boise State scored points in every quarter on the way to a 38-24 victory over the Coyotes.
Matched up against Western Michigan, the Broncos managed eight points in the first quarter then added a TD in the second and 10 more in the third. Boise State finished off with another TD to score in every quarter during a 32-7 victory. QB Maddux Madsen was 16-of-23 for 204 yards and a trio of touchdowns. Dylan Riley led the rush on 28 carries, 138 yards and a score.

Give me Boise State. The Broncos did well against Western Michigan in a nice road win last weekend, posting 377 yards, 21 first downs and a very nice 10-of-14 success rate on third-down tries. Boise State’s defense held WMU to just 223 yards, 12 first downs and 2-of-11 on third downs.
As for Utah State, they finally got a win despite posting 13 penalties for 105 yards, two turnovers and a tepid 4-of-11 on third downs. The defense came up with three interceptions though, and held Troy to just 4-of-13 on third-down tries. Boise State will serve as a much tougher opponent though, and I don’t think Utah State will keep a cover pace.
