In game two versus Monmouth, the Broncos cruised to a blowout victory 49-14. Game three versus Rice was closer but still another victory, as Western Michigan persevered for a 28-21 road outcome.
Last weekend versus Boise State, Western Michigan went into the second half with a 15-0 deficit. The Broncos gave up another 17 points from there and could only muster a single fourth-quarter touchdown themselves in a 32-7 loss. QB Broc Lowry was 15-of-28 for 110 yards and a pick. Trey Petty led the rush with two carries for 41 yards in the defeat.
Buffalo Bulls Betting Preview
Over on the Buffalo side, they kicked off the season with a home matchup versus Albany. The Bulls were able to power out a 21-17 victory in that game. Buffalo couldn’t keep it going in game two and fell 33-20 on the road versus FIU. Game three was a tough matchup on the road versus Penn State. Buffalo gave up 34 points in the first half during a 55-13 blowout loss.
Matched up against Robert Morris last weekend, the Bulls were in the locker room with a 14-14 tie, then posted an unanswered touchdown in the third quarter. Messiah Burch carried 26 times for 146 yards in the win.

I’ll go with Buffalo here. That said, the Bulls have a lot to clean up after their tight win over Robert Morris. In that one Buffalo had three turnovers and just 140 passing yards, but did well on the ground (302 yards) and on third downs (10-of-19). The defense held the Colonials to just 5-of-13 on third downs and 14 first downs in the victory effort.
As for Western Michigan, they gained just 223 yards on Boise State in their latest loss along with just 12 first downs and 2-of-11 on third-down tries. The Broncos gave up 10-of-14 on third downs defensively, which led to 36:46 in time of possession for Boise State. That’s not going to get it done this weekend.
