The Eagles have been pretty busy so far this year. They’ve got six games finished up already. Eastern Michigan opened with a 28-17 victory over Sacramento State, but then took three straight losses to San Jose State, Michigan State and Wisconsin after that. The Eagles were able to get back into the win column versus Lindenwood on September 26, though.
In their game versus UMass last Saturday the Eagles managed to get into the end zone a couple of times in the first half and led 14-7 by the break. Eastern Michigan found their stride in the second and ended up rolling to a nice 38-14 road win. QB Noah Kim was 21-of-30 for 219 yards and two scores. Amareon Blue carried 11 times for 66 yards and a score of his own.
Akron Zips Betting Preview
Over on the Akron side, they’ve only gotten five games in so far this season. The Zips got beaten 38-16 by Wake Forest in their opener then took a blowout victory 45-10 over Robert Morris. The next two games were both losses, however. Akron fell versus Minnesota 41-7 and against UNLV 38-10 to drop their record to just 1-3 over the first four outings.
In the Central Michigan Matchup last weekend the Zips had an early lead 7-0 in the second quarter but ended up going to the break down 21-7. It didn’t get any better from there as Akron limped to a 41-17 loss in the end. QB Brayden Roggow was 15-of-32 for 180 yards, one TD and three picks. Jordan Gant topped the rush with 17 carries for 102 yards and a touchdown.

I’ll go with Eastern Michigan. The Eagles are coming off a pretty impressive road win versus UMass last weekend. In that one EMU put up 26 first downs, 411 yards and zero turnovers. On defense Eastern Michigan surrendered 6-of-10 on third downs but also came up with a couple of takeaways. That makes 67 points combined over the last two games—both wins.
As for Akron, they lost steam quickly versus Central Michigan. The Zips posted just 6-of-14 on third downs and three interceptions while giving up 481 yards and 20 first downs on the other side. The Zips have given up 38 or more points in each installment of this current three-game losing streak.
