The LSU Tigers and the Kentucky Wildcats meet Saturday in college football action from Kroger Field in Lexington. Here’s a Kentucky vs LSU prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Kentucky vs LSU pick.
LSU Tigers Betting Preview
The Tigers have just one blemish on the card so far this year. LSU kicked things off with a couple of sizable wins, beating Clemson 51-10 in the opener and Louisiana Tech 45-14 in game two. The Tigers took their first loss of the year 32-24 versus Ole Miss on September 19, but then bounced back with a nice win over Texas A&M 35-6 in their next outing.
In the McNeese State game last weekend, the Tigers got up quickly by scoring a couple of touchdowns in the first quarter. LSU continued to put on the pressure as the second half concluded, eventually powering out a dominant win 63-14. QB Sam Leavitt was 18-of-23 for 176 yards, three scores and an interception. Harlem Berry was the lead runner with 15 carries for 125 yards and a TD.
Kentucky Wildcats Betting Preview
Over on the Kentucky side, they didn’t have any issues with Youngstown State in their opener this year, winning that one 45-13. The Wildcats had a tough draw versus Alabama in game two and lost 45-17, but then took out Texas A&M in the next outing 31-21. Game four was another win for Kentucky, this time 45-21 over South Alabama on September 26.
In game five versus South Carolina, the Wildcats were in trouble with a 17-0 deficit early in the second quarter. Kentucky worked their way back however, and eventually won on a two-point conversion in overtime for a wild 35-34 victory on the road. QB Kenny Minchey was 28-of-41 for 272 yards and three touchdowns. CJ Baxter carried 13 times for 48 yards and a touchdown.

Kentucky vs LSU Prediction
I’ll go with LSU. We all knew how the McNeese game was going to go last weekend, and it pretty much played out that way. The Tigers rolled to a whopping 39 first downs, 731 total yards, 367 rush yards and a 9-of-17 success rate on third downs. The defense kept the Cowboys in check with just 196 yards, six first downs and 1-of-12 on third downs allowed. LSU is full steam ahead these days; they’ve scored 35 or more points in all four of their wins so far.
As for Kentucky, they’re coming off an insane comeback win over South Carolina. In that one the Wildcats finished on 394 yards and 25 first downs; the defense gave up 458 yards and 21 first downs on the other side but did have a couple of fumble recoveries along the way. That makes 31 or more points in all four wins for the Wildcats, but I don’t think they’ll reach that threshold here.
