The Utah Utes and the Colorado Buffaloes meet Saturday in college football action from Folsom Field in Boulder. Here’s a Colorado vs Utah prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Colorado vs Utah pick.

Utah Utes Betting Preview

The Utes have had some pretty good results so far this year. Utah kicked off their campaign with a 66-14 blowout win over Idaho, then took out Arkansas 43-10 in game two. Game three was a nice shutout blowout win over Utah State 33-0, then came a 31-17 victory on the road versus Iowa State. Through four games that gave the Utes a 4-0 record in the books.

Last weekend versus Kansas, the Utes jumped out to a 14-0 lead by the end of the first quarter. Utah let the Jayhawks back in it before halftime but eventually powered out a 41-24 victory as the game wound down. QB Devon Dampier was 23-of-30 for 238 yards, three scores and a pick. Wayshawn Parker had 16 carries for 171 yards and two touchdowns.

Colorado Buffaloes Betting Preview

Over on the Colorado side, they managed a solid start over the first couple of games but it’s been downhill since then. The Buffaloes eked one out 14-13 versus Georgia Tech in the opener then beat Weber State in game two. Colorado has since hit the skids with losses to Northwestern, Baylor and Texas Tech though, giving the team a 2-3 record so far.

Back on October 3 versus Texas Tech, the Buffs were leading after the first quarter 7-3. Colorado maintained that lead until the third quarter, when they gave up a field goal and a TD. The Buffaloes didn’t get any closer than that, eventually losing the game 29-7. QB Isaac Wilson was 26-of-44 for 290 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions in the losing effort.

Colorado vs Utah Prediction

I’ll stick with Utah. The Utes got it going late in the win over Kansas and powered out a sizable win despite 10 penalties for 94 yards and two turnovers. Utah added 31 first downs and 7-of-12 on third downs while giving up just 4-of-13 on thirds defensively. The Utes are rolling right now and they’ve scored 31 or more points in all five games this year.

As for Colorado, they were able to hang around with Texas Tech for a while in their latest loss but eventually the four turnovers (all interceptions) and 6-of-16 on third downs caught up with them. The Buffaloes were good on third downs (3-of-12) defensively and held the Raiders to just 134 pass yards but it wasn’t enough. I don’t see them finishing too close to Utah either.
