The Boise State Broncos and the Washington State Cougars meet Saturday in college football action from Martin Stadium in Pullman. Here’s a Washington State vs Boise State prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Washington State vs Boise State pick.
Boise State Broncos Betting Preview
The Broncos started out the season with a misstep but since then they’ve been rolling along nicely. Boise State lost to Oregon 34-27 in their opener, then took out Memphis, South Dakota and Western Michigan in the next trio. Over the last two games the Broncos have beaten Utah State and Fresno State. That gives the team a 5-1 overall record this year.
In the Fresno State game back on October 10, the Broncos scored a couple of touchdowns in the first quarter and entered the break with a 25-20 advantage. Boise State got into the end zone in the fourth quarter on the way to a 38-31 victory. QB Maddux Madsen was 23-of-34 for 238 yards and two scores. Dylan Riley led the rush with 19 totes for 150 yards and a TD.
Washington State Cougars Betting Preview
Over on the Cougars’ side, they haven’t had much luck this year in the win column. Washington State lost to Washington and Kansas State before they could get a win over Duquesne. Since then it’s been four straight losses, as the Cougars have dropped to Arizona, Fresno State, Utah State and Oregon State. That makes for a 1-6 record this season.
Matched up against Oregon State last weekend the Cougars were down 17-0 by the end of the first quarter and entered halftime with a 27-10 deficit. Washington State didn’t end up getting any closer on the scoreboard and eventually lost the game 48-30. QB Owen Eshelman was 32-of-49 for 289 yards, two scores and a pick while also rushing for 136 yards and a TD.

Washington State vs Boise State Prediction
I’ll lean toward the Broncos. Boise State was able to hold Fresno State at bay in a road win during their last outing despite going a tepid 5-of-13 on third downs and committing nine team penalties for 83 yards. The offense came up with 512 total yards, 274 rush yards and 29 first downs along the way to 38 points. That gives the Broncos 32 or more points in all five wins so far.
As for Washington State, they logged 459 yards and 25 first downs in their loss to Oregon State. The Cougars defense gave up 555 yards and 24 first downs on the other side, without a takeaway. Washington State has scored 16 or fewer points in four of their six losses so far this year.
