The Indiana Hoosiers and the Michigan Wolverines meet Saturday in college football action from Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor. Here’s a Michigan vs Indiana prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Michigan vs Indiana pick.
Indiana Hoosiers Betting Preview
Indiana started out the season on a great run but finally got tripped up last weekend. The Hoosiers beat North Texas, Howard and Western Kentucky by wide margins in their first three outings. The next three were all wins as well over Northwestern, Rutgers and Nebraska. In their last game versus Ohio State though, the Hoosiers took a loss for a 6-1 record.
In the Ohio State matchup the Hoosiers were within three points at a 10-7 deficit by the end of the first half. Indiana posted a TD in the fourth quarter but couldn’t make the comeback in a 19-15 loss. QB Josh Hoover was 20-of-40 for 296 yards and a touchdown. Turbo Richard led the rush with 16 carries for 46 yards and one touchdown in the losing effort.
Michigan Wolverines Betting Preview
Over on the Michigan side, they got off to a nice start this year with a few solid wins. That trio of victories came versus Western Michigan, Oklahoma and UTEP. The Wolverines followed that up with a couple of losses to Iowa and Minnesota, then bounced back with a nice win over Penn State last weekend. That makes for a 4-2 overall record this year.
In the Penn State game the Wolverines were pretty rough on offense during the first half and went into the locker room with a 3-0 deficit. Michigan scored twice in the third quarter though, and eventually powered out the win 21-18. QB Tommy Carr was 5-of-7 for 47 yards, replacing the benched Bryce Underwood and his two interceptions.

Michigan vs Indiana Prediction
I’ll just stick with Indiana. The Hoosiers had just 17 first downs, 73 rushing yards and a couple of lost fumbles in their loss to Ohio State. On defense Indiana gave up 19 first downs with 313 total yards and a couple of takeaways. After scoring 29 or more points in five straight games to start the year, the Hoosiers have just 35 combined points in their last two games.
As for Michigan, they logged just 90 pass yards and 15 first downs alongside a 5-of-12 third-down success rate in their win over Penn State. The Wolverines aren’t the most prolific scorers this year; they’ve been at 21 or fewer points in five of six outings so far. Seems like both these teams could use a good showing on the scoreboard here.
