Breaking down the best FanDuel player selections for tonight's Celtics vs. Suns matchup.

Phoenix Suns vs. Boston Celtics
March 9, 2024 8:30 pm EDT

After a 115-109 loss to the Denver Nuggets on Thursday, the Boston Celtics travel to Arizona for a matchup with the Phoenix Suns.

Prior to discussing the Celtics vs. Suns game, let’s review the rules for FanDuel single game contest.

FanDuel Single Game Contest Rules

Here are the single game contest rules. You have $60,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your team MVP. The MVP accumulates 2x times the standard FanDuel fantasy points value.

The remaining four players in your lineup will be the star, pro, and flex plays. The star player will receive 1.5x the standard fantasy points value. The pro player will accumulate 1.2x the standard fantasy points value.

The final two flex positions will receive the standard points value. Having stated that, it is important for you to identify the correct player for your MVP position if you hope to win a FanDuel single game contest.

If you have additional questions regarding the rules for the single game contest, I highly recommend that you check out the FanDuel website for more details.

Here are my FanDuel Player Selections for tonight’s Milwaukee Bucks vs. Los Angeles Lakers matchup.

FanDuel Player Picks

MVP-Kristaps Porzingis $13,000

With the Boston Celtics listing forward Jaylen Brown as questionable for this evening’s contest with the Suns, I decided to pivot to Boston center Kristaps Porzingis as my MVP.

Why would I go with Kristaps Porzingis as my MVP tonight? The short answer is Porzingis has quite simply been playing outstanding basketball from a statistical perspective.

In his last three games played, Kristaps Porzingis has averaged 24 points, 9 rebounds, and 2.3 assists, and 1.6 blocks a game. Looking at the data just noted even more closely you will see that Porzingis is averaging an impressive 44.9 FanDuel points over his last three games.

Star-Bradley Beal $12,000

Earlier this month, talented Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker injured his ankle in a contest with the Houston Rockets. The injury has caused Booker to miss the Suns last two games. Who has been the biggest beneficiary of Booker’s absence? The answer is Phoenix guard Bradley Beal.

In the Suns two games played without Devin Booker, Bradley Beal has averaged 18 points, 4 rebounds, and 7 assists a game.  In my opinion, Bradley Beal will continue to produce from a offensive statistical standpoint versus the Boston Celtics later today.

Pro-Jrue Holiday $10,000

In October of last year, the Celtics acquired point guard Jrue Holiday in a trade with the Milwaukee Bucks to provide better stability to the team’s backcourt. How has Holiday transitioned to this Boston Celtics team?

Let’s take a look at Holiday’s statistics to shed light on his play. Through 62 games played this season, Holiday has averaged 12.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1 steal a game.

It should also be mentioned that Holiday will be facing a Phoenix Suns defense that has clearly had issues containing opposing point guards recently. In the Suns last seven games played, Phoenix is ranked a lowly 25th in total FanDuel points (50.40) allowed to the point guard position.

Having stated that, I fully expect that Holiday will have offensive success versus this Suns defense tonight.

Flex Plays I like: Kevin Durant $15,000: Jayson Tatum $14,500: Derrick White $11,000: Grayson Allen $9,500.
