The Auburn Tigers and Mississippi State Bulldogs square off in a week 11 SEC college football game from Jordan-Hare on Saturday. Mississippi State just finished up a game versus Arkansas. In that one the Bulldogs took a tough three-point defeat. As for Auburn, they played Texas A&M in their last outing. The Tigers ended up falling by 17 points. Mississippi State started off the 2021 season with a 2-2 record, beating LA Tech and NC State prior to losses versus Memphis and LSU. The Bulldogs went 3-1 over their next four, taking out Texas A&M, Vanderbilt and Kentucky along with a blowout loss to Alabama.

In last Saturday’s game versus Arkansas, the Bulldogs had a 13-7 deficit at halftime and couldn’t bridge the gap in a 31-28 defeat. QB Will Rogers finished on 417 yards, four TDs and a pick. Makai Polk was tops in receiving with his 117 yards off eight catches.

Over on the Tigers’ side, they went 4-1 over their first four outings, with a lone loss to Penn State mixed in with wins over Akron, Alabama State, Georgia State and LSU. After a loss to Georgia, Auburn beat Arkansas and Ole Miss in their next pair.

Back on Saturday versus Texas A&M, the Tigers notched a field goal in the first quarter and never saw the scoreboard again in a 20-3 defeat. QB Bo Nix had 153 yards and an interception on 20-of-41 passing, and Cartavious Bigsby had 69 yards from 15 carries.

The Bulldogs are 5-1 ATS in their last six in November and 5-1 ATS in the last six road games. MS State is also 4-1 ATS in the last five conference games.

Meanwhile, the Tigers are 15-7 ATS in their last 22 home games and 0-4 ATS in their last four at home versus a team with a winning road record. The under is 4-1 in the Tigers’ last five overall as well.

PICK: I’m probably sticking with Mississippi State. This should be a pretty good matchup, though. The Bulldogs took a while to get going against Arkansas and ultimately fell short, but the good news is that they produced 486 yards of offense with 28 first downs. MS State got killed 202-69 in rush yards, though.

As for Auburn, their 226 yards of offense, two turnovers and 3.2 yards per play against Texas A&M got them nowhere, even though defensively the team wasn’t awful outside of the 217 rushing yards surrendered. The Tigers should match up better here, and I like this one to be competitive the whole way.
