The San Diego State Aztecs meet the Nevada Wolf Pack Saturday in week 11 MWC college football action from StubHub Center. Nevada just finished up a game versus San Jose State. The Wolf Pack ended up eking out a three-point victory. As for the Aztecs, they played Hawaii over the weekend. In that one San Diego State managed a seven-point win to move to 8-1 on the year. Nevada posted a nice 5-1 record over their first six games this year, beating Cal, Idaho State, Boise State, New Mexico State and Hawaii with a lone loss to Kansas State. The Wolf Pakc would then lose 34-32 to Fresno State and beat UNLV 51-20.

In the San Jose State game, Nevada outscored the Spartans 20-17 in the second half to bang out a 27-24 victory. QB Carson Strong finished with 314 yards, one TD and two picks, while Romeo Doubs was the top receiver on his 78 yards and a score from six grabs.

Over on the San Diego State side, they kicked off the year at 7-0 with wins over New Mexico State, Arizona, Utah, Towson, New Mexico, San Jose State and Air Force. The Aztecs took their first loss October 30 in a 30-20 affair versus Fresno State.

San Diego State took on Hawaii this past weekend. In that one the Aztecs held the Warriors to three points over the final three quarters in a 17-10 win. QB Lucas Johnson put up 99 yards passing, and Greg Bell had 77 yards and a score off his 24 carries.

The Wolf Pack are 7-0 ATS in their last seven after an ATS loss and 4-0 ATS in the last four on grass. Nevada is also 4-1 ATS in the last five conference games.

Meanwhile, the Aztecs are 5-1 ATS in their last five on grass and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five in November. San Diego State is 9-3 ATS in their last 12 home games as well.

PICK: I’m going to try San Diego State, but probably staying away from this one. The Aztecs posted a tepid 227 yards of total offense with 3.8 yards per play and 15 first downs against Hawaii, but still found the victory thanks to a nice defensive game. San Diego State held the Warriors to just 4.0 yards per play, 16 first downs and two turnovers.

As for Nevada, they were fairly efficient on offense in the San Jose State game despite the 4.3 yard-per-play average and 53 rushing yards. The Wolf Pack defense came up with three turnovers and held the Spartans to 4-of-15 on third downs. Cover/win-wise, this one could easily go either way but I feel a little better with SDSU.
