The Arizona State Sun Devils and Wisconsin Badgers clash Thursday night in the college football Las Vegas Bowl from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Wisconsin is sitting at 8-4 on the year. The Badgers lost to Minnesota in their last game. As for the Sun Devils, they’re 8-4 as well and coming off a win over Arizona. Wisconsin lost three of their first four games (with a win over Eastern Michigan), then hit a nice mid-season win streak over Illinois, Army, Purdue, Iowa, Rutgers, Northwestern and Nebraska. The Badgers couldn’t keep it going from there and took a loss to Minnesota in their last outing.
Matched up against Minnesota, the Badgers had a 10-6 lead at the break. Wisconsin was outscored 17-3 from there in a 23-13 defeat. QB Graham Mertz finished on 171 yards and a pick, while Braelon Allen added 47 rush yards on 17 carries.
Over on the Arizona State side, they went 5-1 over their first six games this year with a lone loss to BYU. The Sun Devils went 3-3 from there, losing to Utah, Washington State and Oregon State while otherwise beating USC, Washington and Arizona.
In the Arizona game back on November 27, the Sun Devils scored in every quarter on the way to a solid 38-15 victory. QB Jayden Daniels threw for 86 yards and two scores while also rushing for 86 more and another TD. Rachaad White added 98 rush yards and a score of his own.

The Badgers are 5-2 ATS in their last seven bowl games and 12-5 ATS in their last 17 on grass. Wisconsin is 3-8 ATS versus a team with a winning record and 2-7 ATS in their last nine after a straight-up loss.
Meanwhile, the Sun Devils are 0-8 ATS in the last eight Thursday games and 2-7 ATS in their last nine non-conference games. Arizona State is 3-9 ATS in their last 12 neutral-site games and the under is 4-0 in their last four Thursday games.
PICK: I’m going to stick with Wisconsin here. The Badgers had some trouble against a good Minnesota team in their last outing, notching just 233 total yards with 3.9 yards per play, 17 first downs and 4-of-14 on third-down tries. It was certainly a down performance for the offense; Wisconsin had previously hit 20 points in seven straight games.
As for the Sun Devils, they didn’t have much trouble against Arizona in their last game, thanks to 228 rush yards. Arizona State has scored pretty well themselves over the last several games, so I like each team to finish past 20 points here. Ultimately I think Wisconsin can eke out a cover, but it should be a fun matchup.
