Big Ten: Ohio State vs Wisconsin 9/24/22 College Football Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Ohio State Buckeyes and Wisconsin Badgers clash Saturday in week 4 Big Ten college football action from Ohio Stadium. Wisconsin is coming off a matchup versus New Mexico State. In that one the Badgers posted a dominant victory. As for Ohio State, they played Toledo in their last outing. The Buckeyes would go on to win in a blowout as well. Wisconsin didn’t have any issues versus Illinois State in their opener. The Badgers posted a dominant 38-0 victory in that one. Game two against Washington State was a different story, however. Wisconsin had an early lead but ultimately fell 17-14. 

In game three versus New Mexico State, the Badgers scored a whopping 49 points between the second and third quarters in a 66-7 victory. QB Graham Mertz finished with 251 yards, three scores and a pick. Braelon Allen added 15 carries for 86 yards and three touchdowns of his own. 

Over on the Ohio State side, they opened the year against Notre Dame and did well in an eventual 21-10 victory. The Buckeyes were able to keep it going with another dominant win in week two against Arkansas State. Ohio State scored double-digits in the first three quarters and won 45-12. 

Matched up against Toledo, the Buckeyes didn’t have much trouble at all. Ohio State scored 28 points in the first quarter and 21 more in the fourth in a 77-21 win. QB CJ Stroud managed 367 yards and five scores, while Dallan Hayden led the rush on 108 yards and a TD. 

The Badgers are 5-2 ATS in their last seven conference games and 3-10 ATS versus a team with a winning record. The under is 4-1 in Wisconsin’s last five overall. 

Meanwhile, the Buckeyes are 1-4 ATS in their last five overall and the over is 9-4-1 in their last 14 conference games. 

PICK: I’m going to stay with Ohio State. This should be a really fun matchup with both teams coming off blowout wins, though. The Buckeyes drilled Toledo in their last outing, with 763 yards, 36 first downs and zero turnovers. There was very little to complain about in the big victory and I think Ohio State will be strong at home again here. 

As for Wisconsin, they had very little trouble themselves with 595 total yards and 24 first downs. I like the Badgers to keep that momentum going initially in this matchup, but I think Ohio State will pull off the cover in the end.
