ACC: Florida State vs Boston College 9/24/22 College Football Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Florida State Seminoles and Boston College Eagles clash Saturday in a week 4 ACC college football matchup from Doak S. Campbell Stadium.

The Boston College Eagles will look to build on their first win of the season after a 38-17 win over Maine last time out. Phil Jurkovec has thrown for 738 yards, 6 touchdowns and 3 interceptions on 59.4% passing while Pat Garwo III has a team-high 118 rushing yards and a pair of rushing scores. Zay Flowers leads the Eagles in receiving with 22 grabs for 285 yards and 3 touchdowns while George Takacs and Jaden Williams each have 100+ receiving yards this season. On defense, Kam Arnold has a team-high 22 total tackles while Vinny DePalma has a team-high 15 solo tackles. Donovan Ezeiruaku and Bryce Steele each have a pair of sacks while Boston College as a unit have 3 interceptions this season.

The Florida State Seminoles will look to build on their 3-0 start to the year after a 35-31 win over Louisville last time out. Jordan Travis has thrown for 624 yards, 4 touchdowns and an interception but is questionable for this game with an injury. Tate Rodemaker’s thrown for 124 yards, 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions while Treshaun Ward leads Florida State with 302 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns. Trey Benson and Lawrance Toafili have combined for 320 rushing yards as well while Johnny Wilson leads FSU’s receiving group with 11 grabs for 260 yards and a pair of touchdowns. On defense, Tatum Bethune has a team-high 21 total tackles with 15 solo tackles while Renardo Green has 20 total tackles with a team-high 18 solo tackles and Jared Verse has a team-high 3 sacks.

Boston College is 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 conference games while the under is 6-1 in their last 7 games following an ATS loss. Florida State is 11-3 ATS in their last 14 games against a team with a losing record and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 September games.

This is a tough one to call, and obviously it would be nice to see the status of Jordan Travis for FSU before making a pick here with a ton of confidence. However, you have to give credit to FSU for rolling with Tate Rodemaker in relief of Travis and finding a way to get past Louisville. Boston College has been healthy and has struggled to score against less than what they are up against here. The under may be the way to go but I’ll still stick with FSU here.
