The Cincinnati Bearcats and East Carolina Pirates do battle Friday in week 11 AAC college football action from Nippert Stadium.

The East Carolina Pirates will look to build on their 27-24 win over BYU from before their bye week to improve to 6-3 on the year with a third straight win. Holton Ahlers has thrown for 2,632 yards, 18 touchdowns and 5 interceptions on 70.1% passing while Keaton Mitchell leads ECU’s ground attack with 863 rushing yards and 9 TDs while Rahjai Harris has 238 rushing yards and 5 scores. Marlon Gunn Jr. also has 298 rushing yards as well for the Pirates on the year. Isaiah Winstead has a team-high 64 grabs for 871 yards and 3 TDs while C.J. Johnson has 702 receiving yards with a team-high 8 touchdowns. Ryan Jones has 362 receiving yards with 4 TDs as well this season. On defense, Julius Wood has a team-high 54 total tackles while the ECU defense as a unit has 21 sacks and 8 interceptions.

The Cincinnati Bearcats will try to build on their 20-10 win over Navy to improve to 7-2 on the year. Ben Bryant has thrown for 2,358 yards, 18 touchdowns and 6 interceptions on 63.3% passing while Charles McClelland leads Cincinnati’s ground attack with 727 rushing yards and 6 TDs and Corey Kiner has 298 rushing yards with 5 scores as well this season. Tyler Scott leads the Bearcats in receiving with 686 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns with 42 grabs while Tre Tucker has a team-high 45 catches for 530 yards. Jadon Thompson also has 351 receiving yards as well this season. On defense, Ivan Pace Jr. has a team-high 96 total tackles and 8 sacks while Cincy’s defense as a whole has 32 sacks and 7 interceptions.

East Carolina is 12-4-1 ATS in their last 17 games against a team with a winning record and 6-2 in their last 8 road games while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games following a win. Cincinnati is 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games against a team with a winning record and 0-4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall while the under is 5-0 in their last 5 conference games.

I get why Cincinnati’s favored at home and the score against Navy was a bit deceiving as weather played a big part in the lack of offensive production on Cincinnati’s end. However, I still haven’t been impressed with Cincinnati’s offense for a while and it seems like the Bearcats are still getting respected like they’re last year’s team when they’re simply not. East Carolina has already shown that they have the offense to match or blow past whoever they’re up against and I think this is a 4-point win for Cincinnati at worst if ECU doesn’t win this game outright. Give me the Pirates and the points.
