The Louisville Cardinals and the Kentucky Wildcats meet Saturday in college football action from Kroger Field. Louisville is coming off a matchup versus NC State. The Cardinals would go on to win by 15 points. As for Kentucky, they matched up against Georgia in their last outing. In that one the Wildcats lost by 10 points. Louisville managed a 2-2 run over their first four games this year, beating UCF and South Florida. The Cardinals went 4-2 over the next six, beating Virginia, Pittsburgh, Wake Forest and James Madison with losses to Boston College and Clemson otherwise.

In the NC State game, the Cardinals had a slim three-point lead going into the final quarter. Louisville was able to hang on from there and managed a 25-10 win. QB Brock Domann logged 153 yards, while Jawhar Jordan had 105 yards and a TD.

Over on the Kentucky side, they won their first four games this year versus Miami-OH, Florida, Youngstown State and Northern Illinois. The Wildcats went just 2-4 over the next six though, falling to Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee and Vanderbilt.

Matched up against Georgia on Saturday, the Wildcats trailed 9-0 going into the third quarter. Kentucky couldn’t score until the final period and lost 16-6. QB Will Lewis put up 206 yards, one TD and one pick. Chris Rodriguez led the rush on 17 carries for 51 yards.

The Cardinals are 1-6 ATS in their last seven versus the SEC and 4-1 ATS versus a team with a winning record. Louisville is 5-1 ATS in their last six overall.

Meanwhile the Wildcats are 4-1 ATS in their last five in November and 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 non-conference games. Kentucky is 4-1 ATS in the last five versus the ACC.

PICK: I’ll probably take a stab on Louisville here. The Cardinals are coming off a pretty solid win over NC State. Louisville managed 345 yards of offense in that one (192 rushing) along with 16 first downs and zero turnovers. The Cardinals will need another well-rounded performance like that here.

As for Kentucky, they managed 295 total yards (85 rushing), 17 first downs, 3-of-11 on third downs and one turnover versus a tough Georgia team in the last game. If both teams are on point this should be a pretty good matchup.
