The Tulane Green Wave and Memphis Tigers clash Saturday in a week 8 AAC college football game from Yulman Stadium.

The Memphis Tigers will be looking to rebound from back-to-back losses after a 47-45 OT loss to East Carolina in their last game. Seth Henigan has thrown for 1,924 yards, 12 touchdowns and 3 interceptions on 65.1% passing while Asa Martin has a team-high 282 rushing yards with 3 touchdowns while Jeyvon Ducker has 243 rushing yards and Brandon Thomas has 221 rushing yards with a team-high 7 scores this season. Caden Prieskorn has a team-high 27 grabs for 323 receiving yards while Gabriel Rogers has 318 receiving yards and Joseph Scates has 306 receiving yards this season. Two more Tigers have 200+ receiving yards and another three have 100+ receiving yards as well this season. On defense, Xavier Cullens has a team-high 51 total tackles and a pair of interceptions while Quindell Johnson has a team-high 3 interceptions. Cormontae Hamilton also has a team-high 3.5 sacks this season. As a unit, Memphis’ defense has 10 sacks and 9 interceptions this season.

The Tulane Green Wave will be looking to build on their current three-game winning streak, sitting at 6-1 after a 45-31 road win over USF last time out. Michael Pratt has thrown for 1,560 yards, 11 touchdowns and 3 interceptions on 67.3% passing while Tyjae Spears has 463 rushing yards and a team-high 8 rushing TDs. Shae Wyatt has a team-high 333 receiving yards while Jha’Quan Jackson has 304 receiving yards and Duece Watts has 295 receiving yards with a team-high 4 receiving TDs this season. On defense, Dorian Williams has a team-high 46 total tackles while Macon Clark has a pair of Tulane’s 6 interceptions and the Green Wave as a unit have 8 sacks this season.

Memphis is 3-11 ATS in their last 14 road games and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 conference games. Tulane is 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games overall and 41-20-1 ATS in their last 62 home games while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games against a team with a winning record.

I get the case to be made for either side here, but on the surface, if you just told me to pick what I thought was the better offense between Memphis and Tulane, I’d have thought Memphis because the Tigers usually like to play fast and move up and down the field. However, Tulane is on part with Memphis offensively in most team stats, but the Green Wave have the far better defense and the matchup favors Tulane in a big way. I think Memphis will be fine and will get to a bowl game, but this Tulane team is really good. I’ll side with Tulane in this one.
