Week 2: Michigan vs Hawaii 9/10/22 College Football Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Michigan Wolverines and Hawaii Warriors meet Saturday in a week 2 college football showdown from Michigan Stadium.

The Hawaii Warriors will be out to rebound after falling to 0-2 with a 49-17 loss to Western Kentucky last time out. Dedrick Parson leads the Warriors with 111 rushing yards and a pair of scores and Nasjzae Bryant-Lelei has 85 rushing yards with a score. Jonah Panoke leads Hawaii’s receiving corps with 9 catches for 133 yards while Jalen Waithall has 114 receiving yards and James Phillips has a team-high 10 catches this season. On defense, Leonard Lee has a team-high 11 total tackles while Penei Pavihi has 10 total tackles and Malik Hausman has an interception this season.

The Michigan Wolverines will try to build on their season-opening 51-7 win over Colorado State last time out. Cade McNamara has thrown for 136 yards and a touchdown on 50% passing while Blake Corum has a team-high 76 rushing yards. Roman Wilson leads Michigan’s receiving group with 65 receiving yards as well this season. On defense, Junior Colson has a team-high 10 total tackles while Rod Moore has an interception and the Michigan defense ahs a combined 7 sacks so far this season.

Hawaii is 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 games overall and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 road games while the under is 10-3 in their last 13 road games. Michigan is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 home games.

I get the case to be made either way here and I think that Michigan wins this one handily, but now we’re talking about a line that’s over seven touchdowns. Don’t get me wrong, Michigan’s fully capable of scoring that and the Wolverines love to run up the score, but this just feels like a bit much. I’m going to look at the over here just because I think Michigan can get into the high-40s or low-50s on their own and as bad as Hawaii’s been I think they can contribute a bit here. Give me the over.
