Tennessee-Martin vs Austin Peay College Basketball Picks, Odds, Predictions 2/8/21

The Austin Peay Governors will look to bounce back from a 75-74 loss to Morehead State last time out. Terry Taylor leads Austin Peay in scoring with 21.7 PPG and in rebounding with 10.8 RPG while Jordyn Adams has 11.4 PPG as the only other double-digit scorer for Austin Peay coming into this game. Mike Peake has 9.7 PPG with 4.8 RPG and Carlos Paez has 8.6 PPG and a team-high 4.3 APG this season. As a team, Austin Peay is averaging 74.7 PPG on 46.3% shooting from the field, 35.2% from 3-point range and 71.6% from the foul line while allowing 69.8 PPG on 47% shooting from the field and 33.9% from 3-point range this season.

The UT-Martin Skyhawks will look to build off of a 66-64 win over Tennessee Tech last time out. Eden Holt also has 9.9 PPG and 3.4 APG for the Skyhawks while Kenton Eskridge has 3.8 APG for UT-Martin this season. I’ll give UT-Martin credit for being a better team than I gave them credit for coming into this season, but the fact still is that this is one of the lower end teams in the OVC this season. Austin Peay hasn’t been the same cover team that made us a bunch of money in the past couple of seasons, but they’ve really stepped up their game lately picking up a solid win over Eastern Kentucky on the road before falling by one to Morehead State on the road, but it’s still five straight covers for Austin Peay. UT-Martin’s been able to beat the lower end teams on their schedule, but they still struggle against the good teams and I think that’s what we see here and as such, I’ll lay the points with Austin Peay on the road in this spot.
