High Point comes into this one at 8-13 so far. The Panthers have lost three straight games to Charleston Southern and Winthrop. As for Campbell, they’re 14-9 this year. The Camels have won six straight games and are coming off a victory over Hampton. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.
High Point was sitting at 3-8 back in January, and since then the team has gone 5-5 over their last ten. The wins have come versus Presbyterian, Gardner-Webb, Hampton and Charleston Southern. The losses have come to Presbyterian, Hampton, Charleston Southern and Winthrop.
In the 71-63 loss to Winthrop on Friday, High Point’s John-Michael Wright logged 29 points with three rebounds and three assists. Both Ahmil Flowers and Lydell Elmore posted nine points apiece, combining for three assists and 10 boards.
Over on the Campbell side, they were sitting at 8-9 back on January 20, fresh off a pair of losses to Radford. Since then the Camels have won six straight games. Those victories have come versus Charleston Southern, USC Upstate and Hampton.
In the 73-68 win over Hampton on Friday, Campbell’s Jordan Whitfield put up 20 points with six rebounds and two assists. Cedric Henderson added 16 points with four boards and two assists, and Joshua Lusane had 12 points with three boards and three assists.
The Camels are 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 Tuesday games. Campbell is 1-4 ATS in their last five as an underdog and 4-1 ATS in their last five as a favorite.
Meanwhile, the Panthers are 0-4 ATS in their last four Tuesday games and 4-1 ATS in the last five after a straight-up loss. The under is 11-5 in High Point’s last 16 overall and 6-2 in the last eight road games.
PICK: I’m going to stick with Campbell. The Camels have been scoring pretty darn well lately, posting 72 or more in four of their last five outings. High Point has hit 68 or more in six of their last seven, but they’re also giving up points at a high rate as well. This should be a pretty good matchup but I like Campbell to eke out the cover.
