The Montana State Bobcats and the Idaho Vandals meet Friday in college basketball action from Kibbie Dome.
Montana State enters this one at 9-7 so far. The Bobcats have lost four straight, most recently to Eastern Washington. As for Idaho, they’re 0-19 this year. Montana State had a rough start this season at 2-3 but then the team rattled off seven straight wins in January. Since then however, it’s been four straight losses for the Bobcats. Those have come to Weber State and Eastern Washington, twice apiece.
In the 85-69 loss to Eastern Washington on February 13, Montana State’s Jubrile Belo posted 11 points with one assist and one rebound. Both Xavier Bishop and Mike Hood logged 10 points apiece, combining for four assists and three boards as well.
Over on the Idaho side, they’ve had a few close calls this year but are still searching for that win. The Vandals have lost to Northern Colorado, Weber State, Eastern Washington, Idaho State and Portland State across their last 10 games.
In the 71-40 blowout loss to Portland State on Saturday, Idaho’s Damen Thacker led the team with 13 points and four rebounds. Ja’Vary Christmas chipped in with eight points and four rebounds in 23 minutes as well.
The Vandals are 7-20 ATS in their last 27 overall and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 Friday games. Idaho is 15-35-1 ATS in their last 51 after an ATS loss and the under is 7-3 in their last 10 overall.
Meanwhile, the Bobcats are 0-4-1 ATS in their last five overall and 18-6 ATS in their last 24 Friday games. Montana State is 1-4 ATS in their last five after an ATS loss and the over is 4-0 in their last four overall.
PICK: I’m going to stick with Montana State, but probably staying away. I’d like to take a stab on Idaho, but the Vandals haven’t hit more than 64 points in any of their last five games and they simply aren’t playing well this year. If the Bobcats play to their capabilities they’ll have a bounce-back game in this one.
