South Carolina State vs Florida A&M College Basketball Picks, Odds, Predictions 2/25/21

The Florida A&M Rattlers and the South Carolina State Bulldogs meet in college basketball action from the S-H-M Memorial Center on Thursday night.

The Florida A&M Rattlers will try to bounce back from a 70-63 loss to North Carolina A&T last time out. MJ Randolph leads the Rattlers in scoring and assists with 15.1 PPG and 4.8 APG with 6.4 RPG while Jalen Speer has 11.3 PPG with 2.3 APG to make up the pair of double-digit scorers for Florida A&M up to this point in the season. Bryce Moragne also has 8.6 PPG with a team-high 6.5 RPG to lead the Rattlers on the glass as well this season. As a team, Florida A&M is averaging 64.9 PPG on 43.7% shooting from the field, 31% from 3-point range and 63.4% from the foul line while allowing 69.5 PPG on 43.7% shooting from the field and 28.1% from 3-point range this season.

The South Carolina State Bulldogs will still be looking for their first win after a 64-63 loss to NC Central last time out. Rahsean Edwards leads the Bulldogs in scoring with 9.9 PPG along with 2.2 APG while Jemal Davis has 7.8 PPG with a team-high 4.9 RPG to lead the Bulldogs on the glass and Themus Fulks has 6.7 PPG with a team-high 3.6 APG as well this season. As a team, South Carolina State is averaging 60.9 PPG on 38.6% shooting from the field, 32.1% from three and 62.6% from the foul line while allowing 81.3 PPG on 49.6% shooting from the field and 36% from 3-point range this season.

Florida A&M is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games overall while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games as a favorite. South Carolina State is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games as a home underdog while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 home games against a team with a losing road record.

I’m not trying to back either of these teams as the bulk of FAMU’s success ATS on the road came getting a lot more points in those spots. However, while I may end up regretting it, I’m going to take a shot with South Carolina State and the points here. The bulldogs have battled quite a bit lately and while the Rattlers are the better team, they haven’t covered when it comes to actually laying points on the road as all of their road success against the number has come when getting points. I’ll take a shot with South Carolina State and the points here.
