James Madison vs Old Dominion College Basketball Picks, Odds, Predictions 11/13/2021

The Old Dominion Monarchs and the James Madison Dukes meet in college basketball action from the JMU Convocation Center on Saturday afternoon.

The Old Dominion Monarchs will look to build on their season-opening 80-60 win over Virginia Wesleyan in their last game. Kalu Ezikpe led the Monarchs with 21 points on 10 of 12 shooting with 12 rebounds and 3 assists for the double-double while C.J. Keyser added 16 points on 6 of 9 shooting with a pair of threes and 4 assists and Jaylin Hunter added 12 points with 4 assists of his own and a pair of steals to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for Old Dominion in the win. Mekhi Long also added 8 rebounds as well in the win for the Monarchs. As a team, Old Dominion shot 51.7% from the field, 36.4% from three and 66.7% from the foul line in the win.

The James Madison Dukes will try to build on their 135-40 wni over subdivision Carlow University last time out. Jalen Hodge led the Dukes with 21 points on 8 of 11 shooting with 5 threes while Charles Falden had 17 points with 5 threes and Julien Wooden added 16 points on 7 of 10 shooting with 5 assists. Justin Amadi chipped in 15 points with a team-high 15 rebounds for the double-double and Alonzo Sule had 15 points on 7 of 8 shooting with 8 rebounds while Terrence Edwards added 12 points with 7 rebounds, a team-high 7 assists and 4 steals to cap off the scoring in double figures for the Dukes in the win. Andrew McConnell and Terell Strickland each had 5 assists with Strickland adding 4 steals and Vade Morse had 6 assists with a pair of steals. As a team, James Madison shot 64% from the field, 42.5% from three and 50% from the foul line in the victory.

Old Dominion is 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 road games and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 Saturday games while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall. James Madison is 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games overall and 6-2 ATS in their last 8 home games while the under is 11-5 in their last 16 games as a favorite.

This is a tough game and obviously the line reflects that being so close to a pick ‘em, but I’m still leaning James Madison’s way here. This is a Dukes team that’s expected to be one of the better teams in the Colonial this season and I just need to see how Old Dominion fares against a team with a pulse before putting them in my good books. Being at home is the extra tipping point for me so I’ll lay the point with James Madison here.
