The San Diego Toreros and the Cal Golden Bears meet in college basketball action from Haas Pavilion on Monday night.

The San Diego Toreros will be looking to build on a surprising 75-68 win over Nevada in their last game. Jase Townsend leads the Toreros in scoring and assists with 15.5 PPG and 2.5 APG while Terrell Brown has 14.5 PPG and a team-high 7 RPG as well this season. Vladimir Pinchuk has 11 PPG and Marcellus Earlington has 10 PPG and 7 RPG as well to round out the group of double-digit scorers for San Diego through their first two games of the season. Yavuz Gultekin also has 7 .5 PPG and 7 RPG while T.J. Berger also has 7.5 PPG this season. As a team, San Diego is averaging 69 PPG on 48.5% from the field, 45.7% from three and 72.7% from the foul line while allowing 53 PPG on 35.7% from the field and 17.9% from three this season.

The Cal Golden Bears will be looking to bounce back from a 55-52 upset loss to UNLV in their last game. Jordan Shepherd leads Cal in scoring with 18 PPG while Andre Kelly has 12.5 PPG and 10 RPG to lead the Golden Bears on the glass and averaging a double-double per game as the only other double-digit scorer for Cal through their first two games of the year. Joel Brown also has 8.5 PPG and grant Anticevich has 7.5 PPG and 8 RPG as well this season. As a team, Cal is averaging 59.5 PPG on 38.5% shooting from the field, 28.1% from three and 66.7% from the foul line while allowing 67.5 PPG on 44.1% from the field and 39.2% from three this season.

San Diego is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 road games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 Monday games. Cal is 16-5 ATS in their last 21 Monday games and 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 9-4 in their last 13 home games.

I think you could genuinely make a strong case either way here, but I’m looking towards the under initially. This just feels like a game where the first to 65 wins if we even get that high as these are two teams that haven’t been lighting the scoreboard on fire early on this season. Give me the under in this one.
