The Lipscomb BIsons and the Dayton Flyers meet in college basketball action from the UD Arena on Wednesday night.
The Lipscomb Bisons will look to build on a 70-65 win over Loyola-Maryland in their last game. Ahsan Asadullah and Jacob Ognacevic each have a team-high 17.3 PPG with Asadullah logging a team-high 10.2 RPG as well, averaging a double-double per game while Ognacevic has 5.8 RPG as well this season. KJ Johnson has 11 PPG and 3.3 APG while Tommy Murr and Greg Jones each have 10+ PPG to make up the group of double-digit scorers for Lipscomb so far this season. Will Pruitt also has 8.5 PPG with 6 RPG and a team-high 3.5 APG for the Bisons this season. As a team, Lipscomb’s averaging 86.3 PPG on 49.1% shooting from the field, 41.3% from three and 77.3% from the foul line while allowing 82.5 PPG on 40.5% shooting from the field and 31.3% from three this season.
The Dayton Flyers will look to bounce back from a 59-58 loss to UMass last time out. Daron Holmes II and R.J. Blakney each have 10.5 PPG, with Blakney logging 6 RPG and 2.5 APG this season while Holmes II has 5 RPG. Elijah Weaver has 10 PPG with 3 RPG to make up the trio of double-digit scorers for Dayton so far this season while Toumani Camara has 9.5 PPG and 8.5 RPG to lead the Flyers on the glass this season. As a team, Dayton is averaging 61 PPG on 43.3% shooting from the field, 24.3% from three and 65.9% from the foul line while allowing 56.5 PPG on 36.1% shooting from the field and 33.3% from three this season.
Lipscomb is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall while the under is 10-2-1 in their last 13 Wednesday games. Dayton is 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games following a loss and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 home games against a team with a winning road record.
I get that Dayton is the more nameworthy team from the better conference, but I’m not laying double-digits with Dayton considering they’ve failed to cover in both of their games so far this season with an outright loss to UMass despite laying 18 points in that game. Lipscomb has three wins already this season and has been competitive against Charleston even in defeat, so I’ll take the points with Lipscomb here.
