The New Mexico Lobos will travel to the Pan American Center to take on the New Mexico State Aggies this Tuesday Night in College Basketball action.

The New Mexico Lobos lost their 2nd straight game and dropped to 4-3 on the season after being defeated by the Towson Tigers, 73-58, this past Friday. New Mexico struggled on the offensive end against Towson and could not fight back after going into halftime trailing by a 42-29 margin. New Mexico shot 32.3% from the field & 32.0% from beyond the arc while allowing Towson to shoot 47.1% from the field & 40.9% from beyond the arc. New Mexico won the turnover battle by a 13-10 margin, however, was outrebounded by Towson by a 45-31 margin in the loss. Leading the way for the Lobos was Jamal Mashburn Jr. who had 26 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, & 1 steal.

On the season, New Mexico is averaging 80.1 ppg on 46.6% shooting from the field. The Lobos are averaging 8.6 three-pointers per game on 39.0% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, New Mexico has been led by Jamal Mashburn Jr. (20.6 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 2.1 apg), Jaelen House (16.3 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 4.5 apg, 2.3 spg), Gethro Muscadin (9.9 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 1.1 spg, 1.4 bpg), & Javonte Johnson (9.7 ppg, 5.4 rpg).

Defensively, New Mexico is allowing their opponents to average 77.1 ppg on 44.9% shooting from the field. The Lobos have a rebound margin of -8.7 and a turnover margin of 4.0.

The New Mexico State Aggies won their 2nd straight game and improved to 5-1 on the season after defeating the New Mexico Highlands Cowboys, 94-67, this past Wednesday. New Mexico State led by just a 37-34 margin at halftime, however, the Aggies dominated on both ends in the 2nd half and had no trouble pulling away for the victory after taking a 62-44 lead with 12:19 left in regulation. New Mexico State shot 52.2% from the field & 37.5% from beyond the arc while allowing New Mexico Highlands to shoot 41.7% from the field & 30.8% from beyond the arc. New Mexico State outrebounded New Mexico Highlands by a 43-29 margin while also winning turnover battle by a 17-14 margin in the victory. Leading the way for the Aggies was Teddy Allen who had 21 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, & 1 steal.

On the season, New Mexico State is averaging 74.3 ppg on 46.6% shooting from the field. The Aggies are averaging 10.7 three-pointers per game on 37.6% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, New Mexico State has been led by Teddy Allen (16.3 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 1.5 apg), Sir’Jabari Rice (12.2 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 2.8 apg), Donnie Tillman (10.3 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 1.8 apg), & Johnny McCants (9.0 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 2.0 apg, 1.3 bpg).

Defensively, New Mexico State is allowing their opponents to average 67.3 ppg on 41.4% shooting from the field. The Aggies have a rebound margin of 6.7 and a turnover margin of -3.5.

The Lobos are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a winning home record & 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The Aggies are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games & 9-4 in their last 13 Tuesday games.

New Mexico has been able to pick up some wins against easy competition early this season, however, the Lobos are 0-3 in road/neutral site games with their last two losses against UAB & Towson coming by a combined 28 points. New Mexico State has been solid outside of their blowout loss against Utah State and as I think their offense, which ranks 93rd in FG% & 63rd in 3P-FG%, will have success against a New Mexico defense that ranks just t-304th in scoring defense, I’m taking New Mexico State to cover this large spread at home. Good Luck!
