Bradley stumbled to a 1-5 start in their first six games, with only a win over Missouri S&T to show for it. Since then the Braves have won five of six, taking out Maine, Northern Iowa, SIU Edwardsville, Saint Joseph’s and UTEP along the way.
In the UTEP matchup, the Braves were down 33-30 at halftime but surged with 43 points from there in a 73-66 comeback win. Topping the scorers was Terry Roberts with 26 points and 11 rebounds. Malevy Leons added 11 points with seven boards.
Over on the Indiana State side, they went 3-5 over their first eight games with victories over Green Bay, Hanover and Old Dominion. The Sycamores are 4-1 in their last five, beating Miami-OH, Alabama A&M, Oakland City and Midway in that time.
Matched up against Midway on December 29, the Sycamores didn’t have much trouble. Indiana State posted 53 points in the first half and 54 more from there in a 107-51 win. Zach Hobbs topped the scorers on 23 points and seven rebounds.
Indiana State is 7-2 ATS in their last nine at home and 14-6-1 ATS in their last 21 overall. The Sycamores are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six Sunday games.
Meanwhile, the Braves are 6-1 ATS in their last seven overall and 0-4 ATS in their last four Sunday games. Bradley is 4-1 ATS in the last five after an ATS win.
PICK: I’m going to try Bradley here. The Braves have been on a nice scoring run lately, notching 70 or more points in seven of their last eight outings. There have been a few close calls along the way, but overall Bradley is doing well keeping comparable teams at bay.
As for the Sycamores, they’ve hit 67 or more points in each of their last seven outings, so this one could very well be a higher-scoring affair. Ultimately I like Bradley to eke out a cover, but this one seems pretty close. Should be a fun matchup.
