The Bradley Braves and the Loyola Ramblers meet Saturday in college basketball action from Gentile Arena. Bradley is 7-8 on the year so far and fresh off a loss to Missouri State. As for Loyola, they played San Francisco back on Thursday. In that one the Ramblers pulled off a five-point win. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.
Bradley came out of the gate at a limp 1-5 with a lone win over Missouri S&T. The Braves would win six of their next seven games (losing to Toledo December 7) before taking consecutive losses to Indiana State and Missouri State.
In the Missouri State game on Wednesday, Bradley fought back from an eight-point halftime deficit with 36 second-half points. It wasn’t enough in a tough 71-69 loss, though. Jayson kent topped the team on 18 points and seven boards.
Over on the Loyola side, they went 4-2 over their first six games this year, losing to only Michigan State and Auburn. The Ramblers would win their next five games over Arizona State, Indiana State, DePaul, Roosevelt and Vanderbilt.
In Thursday’s game versus San Francisco, the Ramblers were down 39-38 at halftime. Loyola went on a 41-35 run from there for a nice 79-74 win. Ryan Schwieger topped the team with 24 points and three rebounds in 26 minutes of work.
The Ramblers are 0-3-1 ATS in the last four Saturday games and 3-1-1 ATS in their last five overall. The over is 4-0 in Loyola’s last four after an ATS win.
Meanwhile, the Braves are 6-17-3 ATS in their last 26 after a straight-up loss and 4-9-2 ATS in their last 15 after an ATS loss. The over is 5-0 in Bradley’s last five overall.
PICK: I’m going to take a stab on Bradley. The Braves are on a pretty decent run over their last seven games—they’re 6-3 in that span with the three losses all being within five points. Bradley has scored well in that span also. They’ve hit 69 or more points in eight of nine. As for Loyola, they’re a solid offensive team themselves this season. The Ramblers shouldn’t have a ton of issues putting up points here, but I think Bradley can keep the pace to bang out the cover.
