The Brown Bears and the Princeton Tigers meet Saturday in college basketball action from Jadwin Gym. Brown sits at 9-9 so far this year. The Bears lost to Dartmouth in their last game. As for Princeton, they’re 12-3 on the season and coming off a win over Cornell. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Brown came out of the gate this year on an 8-4 run, then hit a string of losses to Vermont, Syracuse, Maryland and Penn. After a win over Harvard, the Bears fell again in their last game on January 8—this time to Dartmouth.

In the Dartmouth game, Brown was within one point at halftime. The Bears faded on a 34-23 deficit from there in a 58-45 loss. The only Brown player in double-figures was Tamenang Choh with 23 points and 12 rebounds in 32 minutes of work.

Over on the Princeton side, their year began at 5-3 with losses to Minnesota, Monmouth and Hofstra. The Tigers have hit a seven-game win streak since then versus Drexel, Bucknell, Lafayette, UMBC, Kean, Columbia and Cornell.

Last weekend versus Cornell, Princeton was in trouble at halftime and trailed 39-25. The Tigers surged 47-31 in the second half and pulled off the 72-70 comeback win. Drew Friberg led the team on 16 points with eight boards. Tosan Evbuomwan added 15 points and eight rebounds as well.

The Tigers are 1-4 ATS in their last five after an ATS loss and the over is 7-1 in their last eight overall. The over is 9-1 in Princeton’s last 10 at home.

Meanwhile, the Bears are 1-4 ATS in their last five road games and 1-5 ATS in their last six overall. The over is 8-1 in Brown’s last nine overall.

PICK: I’m going to stick with Princeton. The Tigers have had a couple of close calls during this seven-game win streak, but overall they’re playing well and getting the job done. Princeton has been a very solid offensive team this year; they’ve hit 72 or more points in each of their last nine outings. As for Brown, they’ve been a mixed bag on the scoreboard lately depending on the matchup. There’s a chance the Bears will keep up for much of the game here, but it’s probably still Princeton’s cover to take.
