The Stanford Cardinal and the Washington Huskies meet Saturday in college basketball action from Hec Edmundson Pavilion. Stanford is coming off a Thursday matchup versus Washington State. In that one the Cardinal posted a five-point win. As for Washington, they’re sitting at 7-7 this year and took out California in their last game. Stanford posted a 6-4 run over their first 10 games, falling to Santa Clara, Baylor, Colorado and Texas along the way. The next three games were all wins; the Cardinal took out Wyoming and Liberty, then shocked USC in a big victory on Tuesday.

In Thursday’s matchup versus Washington State, Stanford was down 35-26 at halftime. The Cardinal outscored the Cougars 36-22 from there in a 62-57 comeback win. Both Brandon Angel and Spencer Jones notched 16 points apiece with a combined eight boards.

Over on the Washington side, they struggled over the first 11 games this year with a 5-6 record. The wins came versus Northern AZ, TX Southern, George Mason, SD State and Seattle. It’s been a 2-1 run for the Huskies since then with wins over Utah and California.

Matched up against California on Wednesday, the Huskies trailed 34-27 at halftime. Washington rallied on a 37-21 run from there to power out the 64-55 comeback win. Terrell Brown posted 21 points, and Nate Roberts doubled on 10 points and 12 boards.

The Huskies are 6-1 ATS in their last seven Saturday games and 1-8 ATS in their last nine after a straight-up win. The under is 11-3 in Washington’s last 14 at home.

Meanwhile, the Cardinal are 1-4-1 ATS in their last six road games and 1-4 ATS in their last five Saturday games. Stanford is 5-0 ATS in their last five overall.

PICK: I’m going to take a stab on Washington here. The Huskies had a bad first half in their last game versus California, but to their credit they were able to rally. Washington ended up shooting 42.3 percent from the floor with a 32-23 rebounding advantage. That said, the Huskies have only scored 64 points in each of their last pair. They’re going to need to dial up the offense in this one.

As for Stanford, they managed a nice comeback win on Thursday but struggled through a bad first half and coughed up 19 turnovers. I like the Cardinal to make a stand in this one as well but Washington looks like a better cover option.
